Things to Buy…

Here’s a partial shopping list I brought with us to PetSmart the night before “Gotcha Day” – the day we were to pick up our new dog:

• Crate with padded liner

• Warming pad

• Leash and harness (Tony says Voyager or Four Paws)

• Fish oil (add to food?)

• Backpack (add weights for walks?)

• Life jacket (for kayak – wait ‘til spring?)

• Dog brush

• Collapsible water dish

• Dog shampoo

• Kong ball

• Dog food (Suzanne says Solid Gold Wee Bits – Pink bag)

• Bones/snacks/chewies.  “Pizzles?”

It’s a lot to buy.  Standing at the checkout I imagine a “puppy shower” – a party where guests bring these sorts of things as gifts – and where the snacks and drinks are served in dog bowls.   Too late now – it’s T-minus 16 hours.  Ready or not — we meet our dog tomorrow morning.
