Edward McCann is a professional writer whose features and essays have been published in national magazines and literary journals. A contributing editor for Country Living magazine, Ed has also written the text for several published books and is the founder and editor of Writers Read, a showcase for both established and emerging writers that celebrates the spoken word. Live, staged readings organized around a single broad topic are professionally videotaped for web-streaming, with audio recordings of the staged readings edited for broadcasts and podcasts. With degrees in business and communications from the City and State Universities of New York, Ed worked nearly a decade as an award-winning television writer and producer, originating a weekly broadcast magazine show and collaborating on a series of documentaries and special news reports. At The Culinary Institute of America, Ed spent a year creating instructional videos for students and for the hospitality industry, then partnered with designer Richard Kollath to collaborate on publishing projects and form their new design company, Kollath McCann Creative Services.
First and foremost, Ed is a writer — though the troubleshooting and project management skills he developed during his years in TV translate well into the video, print, event, hospitality design, and other production work he engages in today. Please share your comments about his blog posts here at My Rescue Mutt, and look for the announcement of the release of Ed’s new book.
